History

of Chacon Parking

Chacon Parking was founded in 1991 in San Diego, California, specializing in parking-related investment, development, and consulting. Founder and President Paul Chacon brought eight years of experience as co-founder of Walsh & Chacon, a commercial real estate firm launched in 1982. In 1992, after serving as VP of Real Estate and Development at Ace Parking, Paul co-founded Five Star Parking–San Diego with national partners, where he served as General Partner.

The company was acquired by ABM Parking Services in 2010, and Paul transitioned to serve as General Manager for the San Diego market. In 2016, he relocated to San Francisco to lead ABM’s Northern California operations as Senior Director of Parking, later becoming Senior Business Development Manager. To avoid conflicts of interest, Chacon Parking’s consulting operations were paused during his tenure at ABM. In August 2025, Paul stepped away from ABM and transitioned to Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation as a VP of Sales and Marketing.
